Masters Prize Money

Sam eventually placed 16th in the Masters, and had he been a professional golfer he would have taken home $216,000 in prize money. When asked about it in his Master's press conference he mentioned that "NIL is pretty good". So Sam may be taking in some money from his sponsors such as Ping and johnnie-o

His father had a horrific battle with early on set Alzhiemer's which he eventually lost in June 2021, but he wrote his son one last note before he past. "Don't wait to do something" in scribbled, barely legible handwriting, which Bennett had tattooed on his arm.

Sam & Markus Bennett Match Play with Grant Horvart and Micah Morris

Sam Bennett and his brother Markus appeared on Grant Horvart and Micah Morris channels for an absolute cracker of an episode. They played a match play scramble at the number 1 course in Texas, Whispering Pines. It was an excellent showing of the different between a scratch golfer like Micah and Grant and a professional golfer. Micah is known great driver of golf ball and Sam just made him look pedestrian. They got there butts handed to them. Markus claims to have played one semester of college golf and now works power lines, but he stole the show of the episodes with his personality for the camera and excellent golf. Many commenters were pining for a Markus Bennett youtube channel.

Swing

Sam Bennett mentions in his masters press conference and in his match with Grant and Micah that he has never had a swing lesson. And even chuckles about the idea of the getting one. He comes from the school of swing your swing and doesn't plan on changing. Golf experts have gone so far as to say his swing will not hold up at the professional level and that it needs to be fixed so that he can have longevity in the sport. The most unorthodox part about his swing is just how much he drops his head and bends his back in the follow through. We will see how it holds up through out his career but it definitely seemed to be good enough at the Masters.
