Day 1 Comments

Rickie Fowler just shot a 62, lowest ever score in US Open Score history....incredible.

Victor Hovland with a hole out

From Smylie Kaufman: "Slick Rick!! He looks realllly good with the putter this year. He cut down his putter just fractionally this week and threw a fresh grip on! 7 birds on the day already 👀" src: twitter

Live look at Rickie Fowler at US Open

Rickie Fowler with another birdie to go to -5 and take a two shot lead. Still no stream on USOPEN.com

GIVE US A DAMN RICKIE FOWLER STREAM

What a story Rickie would be. -4 through 10

Beautiful par save from Bryson Dechambau

Can we all agree that aim point sucks?

Schauffele is playing golf as clean as you can and is -3. Rahm is playing ugly golf and is one under. Watch out when Jon's driver comes back online.

Rahm has just been battling his driver, yet another sand trap for him.

Rahm follows up pissed off shot with long par putt for an up and down....is anyone surprised?

Rickie Fowler tied for the lead through 7 😏, where do I find that stream?

Rahm out of the rough into a green side bunker. An audible "ahhhhh". Rahmbo is getting pissed, watch out, this is when he plays his best.

Rahm with a 12 footer for birdie on par 3, 70 yard, #15. He will go back to -1. Hovland follows with 8 footer bouncing back off a double.

Schauffele with a bird on par 5 #14 to go 1 back while Hovland doubles! Slow start for Hovland.

The two currently featured groups are Morikawa, Homa, Scheffler, and Schauffele, Hovland, Rahm. I am more of a Hovland and Rahm kind of guy but will be checking in on Scottie. I don't think Homa and Morikawa will be threats this week, even with hometown advantage.

LA Boys Max Homa and Colin Morikawa start of with bogies...Colin dealing with some back pain, not off to great start so far.

Scottie +1 through 3, I am sure he'll warm up.

Scottie with an extremely aggressive 6 iron on the 223 downhill par 3 lands him in the trap. Going to be a tough 3 from there.

Scottie with a great wedge out to uphill 5 ft, and he makes it! If those 5 footers turn on for him, he could be deadly.
